Life in Eternity

Life, when compared to eternity

is a sweet melody in the wind, half forgotten

before the notes finish playing,

it is a broken heart and rapturous smile,

a symphony of colors captured

by the Master artist, life is art

transient and fleeting,

time flies faster that a ripple

in the deep pool that is forever and ever.

Life, like earth is a tiny pinprick

of mountains and valleys and achingly beautiful sights

filled with Mt. Everest accomplishments

and Challenger Deep depression.

But even this, even earth’s majesty

is swallowed into the greatness of space.

How much greater then when we are

consumed not by cavernous cold or oppressive darkness

but welcomed with crushing bear hugs into the warm

embrace of eternity at the side of the Creator?
